Les Deux Alpes has been created in the fifties, making it one of the first ski resorts in France, just after Chamonix. Its name comes from the two pastures that make up the station: Venosc and Mont-de-Lans.
Les Deux Alpes is located in the department of Isere in the south east of Grenoble (45 min). The only road access is the D213, which branches off the RN91 south of the Chambon dam (between Grenoble and Briançon). The village rises to 1650 m while the top station is at 3250 m. With sound made uneven of more 1600 m the ski resort of the Deux Alpes stays a playground very outdone both by the skiers and by the followers of the MOUNTAIN BIKE of descent.
Thanks to its glacier (the largest glacier in Europe), the ski area is open year round. Les 2 Alpes station is also a reference to the quality of its snowpark and its off-piste, but it is recommended that you get in touch with one of 11 ski schools in the station: a French Ski School, ESI Saint Christophe and 9 independent ski schools will offer skiing and snowboarding lessons.
