The town of Allos is located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. The inhabitants are called Allossards. The Val d'Allos is crossed by the Verdon from its source to 2500 m altitude. On the edge of the Mercantour National Park, the country of Upper Verdon-Val-d'Allos offers landscapes of great beauty, such as the famous Lake Allos, the largest mountain lake in Europe until the waterfall of La Lance Colmars near the Alps.
Val d'Allos has two ski resorts, Val d'Allos 1500 which has 15 tracks and the Val d'Allos 1800 Praloup connected by "l'Espace Lumière". In Seignus the first lift of Provence was installed in 1936.
